WhatsUp Gold Ups the Ante with a New Mobile App

It seems that barely a month or two goes by without yet another exciting announcement from Ipswitch, these days. In november, we had the release of a service pack for both their managed file transfer and network monitoring tools; and now we have the addition of a mobile app for WhatsUp Gold.

Network monitoring reports and statuses in the palm of your hand.

Available currently for Apple iOS, and with Android on the way, this addition is sure to be a hit as it is free for existing customers.

Just create a VPN tunnel between the mobile handset and the server; or open port 9644 for inbound traffic to the WhatsUp Gold server and you will be able to view the up and down statuses of devices and monitors.

In addition to viewing capabilities, devices can be placed into maintenance mode directly from the app. No more having to log into WhatsUp Gold and marking a device as in-maintenance before you enter the server room.

Once complete, return the device to its normalised state, all from a convenient location...connectivity permitting.

This version one release is an exciting milestone for WhatsUp Gold with. However what is even more promising are the future possibilities such as adding push notifications or other reporting views such as network traffic analysis and dashboards.

All in all, it looks like it is going to be a fruitful 2019.
